Off the southwest coast of Florida lies a small beach town where I grew up called Naples. It's known for its stunning beaches, upscale shopping, sophisticated dining, and, of course, its numerous golf courses. Naples has been self-proclaimed the "golf capital of the world" as it boasts the second most golf holes per capita among all communities. This is a major draw for retirees, but I'm here to tell you that Naples is definitely not just for them. Over the years, Naples has become increasingly youthful, offering a lively Palm Beach vibe. Here are some of my favorite places from a genuine local who has experienced almost everything Naples has to offer!
Must do:
5th Ave- Fifth Avenue is the perfect spot to experience Naples, featuring charming coffee shops, craft cocktail bars, sidewalk cafes, delightful boutiques, Italian gelaterias, and over 32 acclaimed full-service restaurants.
3rd Ave- Encircled by the vibrant, original beach cottages and charming residences of Old Naples. The elegant and delightful shops, the famous fine dining establishments and bistros, along with the courtyards and antique fountains, are all ready to be explored—amidst the lush, colorful cascading flowers and verdant landscaping of historic Third Street South.
Beaches- Known for its beautiful sunsets and white sandy beaches here are a few of the public beaches I prefer that are available for all. Naples Beach, Vanderbilt Beach, Clam Pass, Wiggins Pass or Park Shore are a few favorites.
Waterside shops- If you love shopping, you must visit Waterside Shops when in Naples. Nestled in a vibrant setting of tropical plants, blooming shrubs, and striking water features, this scenic, open-air shopping and dining venue hosts over 60 shops and restaurants, offering an ideal place for delicious food, sunshine, and retail therapy.
Playhouse- If you're a Broadway enthusiast, you're in luck. Naples' newest addition is the Gulfshore Playhouse, which produces world-class plays from scratch that may just make it to Broadway. An entertaining evening awaits!
