The Shore Club- Turks & Caicos

Having lived in Florida for the majority of my life, I have had the opportunity to explore numerous Caribbean islands over the years, with Turks and Caicos being on the top of my list. It's just a 2-hour flight from Miami, followed by a short 15-minute flight to reach one of my favorite hotels, The Shore Club, located on Long Bay Beach! For the past two years The Shore Club has been rated the most "Instagram-able" hotel. Turks and Caicos is known to have some of the most beautiful beaches and water, let's just say that is now confirmed!

Upon our arrival at the Shore Club, we were greeted in the outdoor/indoor lobby with Caribbean cocktails. We got checked in and they immediately gave us a tour of the hotel. With there being four pools, three restaurants, a gym, and a spa, it was easy to get lost. As we were approaching our room with massive double doors, I was immediately excited. The doors opened into the grand foyer with a full kitchen, living room, and dining room. This was an incredible three-bedroom penthouse with panoramic views of the ocean, a massive terrace, and a back terrace including a hot tub. Our room came with our own private butler 24/7 who helped us with all reservations and any activities we would like to do.

Day 1-we reached in the late afternoon and took some time to unwind and appreciate the room before preparing for the evening. Our dinner reservations were at the hotel's Sui-Ren Japanese restaurant. We kicked off the evening with happy hour at a bar before proceeding to dinner. I must admit that I was highly impressed by the delicious variety of food options available. Those familiar with the islands are aware that menus are typically limited, often featuring fried dishes even in upscale hotels. Hence, the diverse and appetizing menu at the restaurant came as a delightful and unexpected surprise to me.

Day 2 - The next morning, we went down for breakfast and then headed straight to the beach and pool. The butler had all our chairs, towels, waters, and whatever else we needed ready to go. The beach was incredible with the whitest sand and crystal blue water. After relaxing, we decided to go to the pool bar to really get the day started. It was a swim-up bar, which is always fun and refreshing. The bar was definitely busy, which is always fun to meet people from around the world. After we were done chit-chatting, we headed back to the penthouse to change for dinner. We were heading offsite tonight to Grace Bay Club hotel, which has multiple restaurants and bars as well. The butler had champagne waiting upon arrival from the pool and a driver ready to go. We headed to Infiniti restaurant, which was located right on the sandy beach with live music. Once again, the food was incredible, and so was the music. Let's just say we danced the night away.

Day 3 - We woke up Saturday morning early as I knew this was going to be my favorite day. A boat day, of course. We chartered a boat with the company Mona Charters on their 37ft boat, which was the perfect size for 6 of us. They took us all around the island, showing us literally the bluest water I have ever seen. With random sandbars in the middle of the ocean, the softest sand on your toes, and a fun bar that you can only access by boat called The Noah's Ark Bar ( you may be lucky to see Drake or Jason Aldean while their at they're staying at their beach homes, as its one of their favorite bars on the island) . After our 6-hour boat day, I had a little surprise set up for my family. One of my favorite things after a boat day when you just want to relax in the air conditioning is to hire a private chef to the room. I told the butler to let the chefs up, and as soon as we got back to the room, everyone was ecstatic. I did tons of research to find the perfect chefs, and boy did I ever. Tiziano Malandrucco was our chef, and although he catered to Italian food in the islands (which I was surprised but also nervous about), he was by far the best private chef I have hired. Everything was 10/10 and absolutely perfect. I've had lots of private chefs on mostly all my vacations, so trust me on this one!

Day 4 - On our last day there, we took advantage of the hotel again. We tried all the pools and had lunch at the other restaurants located in the hotel. A few of us also received massages on the beach, while the other half went on jet skis. For our final dinner, we went offsite again to a hotel called Rock House, which is very new and modern. We started downstairs at the Rock Cave Bar for a few cocktails and then headed upstairs to their main restaurant called Vita, which is also Italian-inspired with some Caribbean influence. The food and views couldn't have been better for our last night on the island.

What to know:
  • I would try going to the islands anytime from October to March to avoid it being overly hot.

  • This trip is great for couples or anyone who wants a relaxing vacation.

  • The best conch is at Da Conch Shack.

  • Avoid anywhere near the cruise port.

  • Tequila was a bit hard to find (If you're into tequila.)

  • There are direct flights.
