Horseback to Beano's Cabin

Updated: Aug 15

Experience the perfect blend of adventure and gourmet dining at Beano's Cabin!

Nestled in a meadow on the mountainside of Beaver Creek, you will find a luxurious log cabin with one of Colorado's finest restaurants. Experience the thrill of reaching the cabin by horseback in the summer and by snowcat in the winter, where you can indulge in a delightful 5-course meal! If you're not feeling as adventurous and just want to enjoy amazing food, there is a complimentary shuttle that will take you up the mountain from the town.

Recently, we had the experience of riding horses to dinner, which was truly one of the most fun dining experiences I have ever had. Starting off at Beaver Creek Stables where we checked in and were assigned our horses. We were with a group of 8 in total, not including our guide. We had a short lesson for those who hadn't ridden horses before, and then we were off. My horse was Frosty, and boy was he sweet but also a stubborn one. With some experience, it wasn't a bother to me. The horse ride from the stables to the cabin was about an hour. Trailing along beautiful open meadows, Aspen trees, ski trails, and a few rivers, we also got the chance to see a few deer along the way. It was such a beautiful way to see the mountain in the summertime. When we arrived at the cabin, our guide took individual pictures of each group, tied our horses up, and showed us inside.

When arriving at Beano's, you are greeted with a lovely fireplace and bar, as well as the most beautiful antler chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. Just imagine, all the windows open with a temperature of 65 degrees, live music, and an incredible view of the mountain. Starting off with some drinks (I had a dirty martini, of course), then moving on to a mushroom soup with truffle oil, the heirloom tomato and watermelon salad, followed by bison tartare and trout fritters. As for the entrée, we both had the beef tenderloin, and lastly for dessert, the sticky toffee pudding and Nutella donuts. There was not one item we had that we didn't thoroughly enjoy. After dinner, with it being dark and a few martinis in, instead of horseback riding down, you ride back to the stables via a bus that they have waiting every 15 minutes.

Below I will list the pricing of each and strongly recommend this adventure to dinner, whether it's for a date night or with a group of friends. I will definitely return in the winter to bring my friends and family to enjoy this experience via snowcat. Beano's Cabin looks magical during the holidays and can't wait to experience it all again!
