I have to admit that my blog post on this property may perhaps be a little biased, all down to the fact that my husband and I got married here a number of years ago. The property has been one I frequently visited in the past and each time we are there we fall in love with it even more. I spent many Summer vacations in Marbella and could easily spend more time here.

Marbella has been known to be a little shady at times (much like Miami's reputation) but it has always attracted visitors from all over Europe with a strong Deutsch, Irish & English following. The weather is fantastic year round, there are many different areas to enjoy, the food is great and the shopping is up there with some of the top shopping desitnations worldwide. Plus, if you are an outdoor or sporty type you can enjoy great Golf courses, Tennis clubs and beautiful walks along the promenade.

When looking for somewhere to stay in Marbella you have an array of choices but it is safe to say that the Puente Romano is one of the most sought after properties on the Costa Del Sol. It was voted as the Number One Resort in Europe in 2023 at the prestigious Condé Nast Travel Awards. It is steeped in history dating back to the Roman times and with it's design based on that of a white washed Andalusian Village made up of little houses it feels like you hve stepped back in time for all of the right reasons. Directly adjacent to the Puente Romano is the Nobu hotel and you can often find yourself weaving between both as they are so effortlessly intertwined. The gardens are simply stunning with a waft of jasmine everywhere you walk it truly is magical.
If you are not staying at either property it is highly likely that you will visit one of their many restaurants or bars during your vacation. The location is right between Marbella's old town and Puerto Banus along the Golden Mile.

The rooms are simple but spacious, some of the best sized rooms I have experienced. Luckily we snagged an upgrade so we had a beautiful terrace overlooking the spot we had our ceremony. The bathrooms are well equipped with beautiful towels and a hairdryer and straightener, which is such an added bonus to have offered at any hotel.

The property is vast and ever evolving, with over 5 swimming pools to choose from, tennis or padel facilities and numerous restaurants it is a destination that is so well catered for it is nearly like you do not need to leave.

Each year they have new restaurants or bars opening with some very special partnerships with the designer houses. This year Fendi took over the Plaza and completely transformed it into a space adorned with bright yellow furnishings, a Fendi inspired menu and it quickly became the hot spot everyone wants to take a photo at for Summer 2024.

The hotel is a culinary landmark in Marbella. On site you will see they have an extensive list of restaurants to choose from such as Nobu, Cipriani, Coya & many restaurants from chef Dani Garcia such as Leńa or Bibo. Plus the newly opened El Pimpi (owned by Antonio Banderas) & Gaia which are the newest additions to the fold, boasting classic Spanish & Mediterranean dishes. They also have their famous Chiringuito located on the boardwalk which is the perfect location to enjoy a long lunch with family & friends while enjoying the boho beach club beats from one of their resident DJs.

For a lively night out you can enjoy Coya, the Plaza, the nightclub La Suite or the newest speakeasy at Gaia. Put it this way, you will never be short of options for whatever you are looking to do.

Things to know:
Getting to Marbella - you fly into Malaga, the hotel is approximately 45 mins away by car. You can fly from the USA via a main hub such as Madrid and you can fly direct from most European locations.
If you are staying onsite you do not need to worry about a car rental as you can access Uber or Bolt for taxi / car bookings. Bolt is the cheaper and more widely used app in Marbella, I would recommend downloading this in advance.
Marbella is close to many other popular destinations such as Seville, Malaga and Tarifa, it is even possible to get a ferry to Morocco if you wish to venture a little farther.
You must visit Puerto Banus and take in the sights and shops, I would suggest doing this in the day as at night the crowd can change and not for the better.
If coming to Marbella there are an abundance of other accommodation options but I would highly recommend at least having a lunch or dinner reservation for one of the Puente Romano restaurants.
I loved sharing with you one of my all time favorite resorts. Please let me know if you have been or want to go.
Love Keva xx
