As my trip to Ireland approaches I wanted to share one of my favorite Irish hotels with you. One of the most popular hotels to visit is located in Adare, a small village in Limerick which ooozes Irish charm. Adare Manor is one of the most beautiful locations you can stay in while visiting Ireland. I believe I appreciate Ireland and all its beauty more than I did when I lived there.
Getting to Adare Manor
Reaching Adare Manor is incredibly convenient, thanks to its close proximity to Shannon airport, a smaller Irish airport in the west of Ireland. Easily accessible from all major US hubs, Shannon airport is just an 18-minute drive away from Adare Manor. This secluded estate boasts a renowned golf course, several dining options, and much more, making it a truly spectacular destination for a short getaway. During our two-night stay, we were accommodated in one of their exquisite rooms and made the most of the extensive amenities available on the property. Reputable travel accolades have been awarded such as winning Forbes Travel guide 2024. plus many more have acknowledged the property for its exceptional qualities. Upon arrival, guests are captivated by the property's beauty and rich history. The welcoming team ensures a warm reception starting from the moment you enter through the main gates, where a guard greets you and introduces you to the property.
One great advantage of Adare Manor, setting it apart from similar properties, is its close proximity to the local town. A short walk allows you to immerse yourself in the charm of rural Ireland and explore the picturesque town on foot. We suggest leisurely walking into the town, admiring the beauty of the thatched cottages, and indulging in activities such as having a pint of Guinness at one of Ireland's oldest pubs, enjoying a coffee at a local cafe, or browsing through the local boutiques.

The Oak Room is the most elegant option, offering a tasting menu. This original family dining room exudes true luxury and is incredibly beautiful.
The Carriage House offers a more relaxed atmosphere.
The Tack Room is personally one of my preferred cocktail bars in Ireland and is a great place for a pre- or post-dinner drink. Located downstairs, the space is charming, the fireplace is usually lit, and the cocktails are exceptional.
The bedrooms feature stunning interior design that beautifully captures the essence of Irish heritage while meeting the high standards of top five-star destinations worldwide. This establishment has been highly praised and rightfully so.
One of the highlights of our time was biking around the grounds which cover over 840 acres. Simply grab a bike from the front door, ask one of the friendly staff members, and pedal around the property to discover all it has to offer. In addition to the excellent golf course on-site, there are plenty of other fitness options available, including a well-equipped gym and padel courts.
When it comes to breakfast in bed, this particular property stands out as a place where you should forego the traditional room service and instead savor your morning meal in the elegant dining room where breakfast is served. The ambiance of the room where breakfast is presented adds an extra touch of luxury and charm to the overall experience, making it a delightful way to start your day. Moreover, the level of service at this hotel is truly exceptional, especially when it comes to catering to guests with allergies or specific dietary requirements. The staff goes above and beyond to accommodate any special requests, provided they are informed in advance. It is highly recommended to communicate any allergies or dietary restrictions upon check-in so that the team can make the necessary preparations to ensure an enjoyable dining experience for you.
There are numerous activities to experience while staying in Adare Manor, such as strolling through the formal gardens, engaging in padel or clay pigeon shooting, and savoring a whiskey tasting. You can also simply relax at one of the various on-site restaurants. Adare Manor has gained global recognition as a premier destination in Ireland, offering a five-star experience with a perfect touch of Irish hospitality. The property is a showpiece for Irish Craftmanship with no detail missed, if you are an art lover you will also be able to enjoy some beautiful paintings and sculptures by Irish artists.
There are numerous impressive properties in Ireland that I highly recommend, and this one remains among the top five for all the aforementioned reasons and many more. If you're considering booking a room, I recommend visiting during the off-season to secure the best rates, as like most 5-star hotels worldwide, there has been a significant price hike. Plus, for all of the golf fanatics you will be interested to know that Adare Manor is the host for the Ryder Cup 2027.
